Where Do You Go First?

Challenging Situations

As humans, we generally panic first when we are facing a challenging situation. Then we try to bring some rational to the situation and start looking for solutions. But we do not feel we are fully equipped to get a solution and that is when we turn to seek assistance from someone around us. Most of the time, the persons we contact are close and trustworthy in our own evaluation. Based on my personal experience, the solution we get from these close relations do not solve the challenges just because of one of the following:

-          our good friends try to apply the solutions they used in their own cases thinking that they apply to our specific challenges.

-          our good friends do not want to hurt our feeling and give us a solution that is watered-down, thus not applicable to the challenges.

-          our good friends do not just have the time to think of a good solution and give a half-baked solution.

-          our “good friends” are not really our friends, and they use this opportunity to push us closer to disaster…

In the cybersecurity world, they tell us to go to the policies and procedures to see what we need to do to address the challenging situation. Now, remember; these policies and procedures are all written by us humans and they are not generally adequate to the specific situation we are addressing! But at least, if we follow them, we are covered vis-à-vis audit! But is this the solution? The answer is NO.

So, where do we go first when we face any challenge?

Jesus is the answer!

Remember that we have a father who is always close to us; always listening to us; and that wants the best for His children! The bible says in Matthew 28:20 – "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." God will NEVER leave us! He is always present and ready to take control.

In Deuteronomy 31:6 – "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you." God knows that we will face challenging situations, and He is ready to guide us and protect us from any failure!

God is ALWAYS listening to us: Jeremiah 29:12 – "Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you."

These are some of the verses that are a beautiful reminder that no matter what we face, God is always near, listening and guiding us. Why then do we need to go to people around us to seek for solutions when GOD is ALWAYS ready to listen and give us the best answer? Do you know why I say the “best answer”? Well, Jeremiah 29:11 states the following: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." God has the best for us. Should we then settle for less?

Philippians 4:13 – "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." This verse reminds us that with God, there is no challenge that we cannot address. We have the power through Christ to get the complete and best solution!

Finally, I want to say that God will use anyone and everything in our favor because He wants us to get the best. Romans 8:28 says: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."

Call for Action

As you noticed, we do not need to go look for solution anywhere else but in Jesus for any challenging situation we are facing. Jesus Himself will take you to the person that will assist you if it is needed. He will create the conditions that will bring you to a solution. But the key is that you FIRST have to talk to Him before any other person or take any action.

Now as you read in the verses, you need first to be a follower of Christ before seeking His guidance. It is very simple, submit to Him, confess you sins and ask for His forgiveness and acknowledge that Jesus died for you, conquered death and is today seating on the right side of His father interceding in our favor!

GOD IS IN CONTROL!!!

God bless you!
