Why go through a 3rd Party?
It is very interesting to notice that in our society today, we do not communicate directly with the person we have an issue or any item open for debate. We always go through a 3rd party to have that communication. Some of us run to social media and expose all our intimate and personal items hopping that the so called “followers” will magically give us the correct solution! Some of us go to our friends to build a bridge of communication between us and the other party.
Another trend is to take our case to a counselor that does not know who we are, what is the context, where we are coming from… Then we expect that stranger to give us the golden solution to our issue!
When it comes to communication with God, our Father, the same happens. We run to the pastor or the “man of God” to have him/her talk to God, our Father on our behalf and bring back the response of God to us! Sometimes, the “man of God” comes to us before we even get to him/her and tells us: God gave me a message for you…
It is quite interesting that the one we give the most trust to; the one we call our best friend; the one we call Our Father; the one we affirm is our Creator, the one we say is Love; the one we state that He indwells us; that is the same one we need to pass through a 3rd party (man of God) to talk to. That is the same one we cannot address a statement to but need to have someone else do that for us. That is the same one we expect another person to come deliver the message He sent us!!!
Think about this for a moment. When we need to talk to our biological father or mother, do we go through someone else? Do we seek the service of a 3rd party? Then, why do we need to go through someone else with it comes to God who is above anyone and anything; who is our BEST friend; who is our Father?
Direct Communication is Key!
When you have any item to discuss with someone, take the time to talk to that person directly. This will enable the following:
- Clear communication supported by body language
- No interpretation of words, phrases and ideas
- Direct listening and response in real time
- Honesty in the communication
- …
All of the above will help resolve the issue or address the item with a tangible and positive result.
In 1 Samuel 3:10 it says: The Lord speaks to Samuel: "Speak, for Your servant is listening." This is a clear illustration of the fact that God is always listening to us. Please communicate with Him directly. Also note the fact that God is qualifying Himself as “servant”. This means that He is ready to attend to your needs that would be voiced. Samuel did not seek assistance from a 3rd party; he directly communicated with God and God have him a great answer inviting him to speak.
Mark 11:24 says: "Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Here again, God is not asking you to ask for the service of someone else to talk to Him on your behalf. He says, “Whatever you ask …” God wants you to ask Him directly because He has an intimate relationship with you. This is why our prayers should not be a recitation or borrowed words from someone else’s prayer, or a stereotyped prayer that you repeat word for word! God is expecting a prayer from the depth of your heart, coming directly from you.
Philippians 4:6 – "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." This passage tells us that we should never panic but instead present our request to God! Wow!!! This is a clear prescription to us as it emphasizes prayer, faith, and continuous communication with God as essential practices for believers.
God is our Father and He loves us with no limit. We know deep inside us that He is our BEST friend. Let us then treat Him as a real best friend and communicate with Him directly. God will respond to us with so much clarity and if He sees the needs to get someone else to talk to us, He will do so and when that person talks to us, we shall feel in our body and soul that this message is coming from God!!!
One of our week points is listening to God after we have prayed and spoken to Him. We need to pay attention to everything happening around us and look at them with our spiritual eyes! Then shall we be able to decern the response from our loving Father! After you pray, take some time to stay quiet and listen deep inside you. During the days following your prayers, pay attention to all that is happening around you. THERE IS NO LUCK or COINCIDENCE in our lives! God says it: Romans 8:28: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."

Please use that line anytime, anywhere, in all circumstances. Pay attention to the response you receive from the line. Sometimes, the response may come in various ways, but you will feel the phone ringing deep inside your body and soul when the responses arrive!
